Origin Stories: A Comic Festival Begins…
Alright, let’s do this one more time…
My name is Gel E Bean.
I believe every kid has a story inside them—some just haven’t found the right way to tell it yet.
In one corner of Topeka, at the Lois Curtis Center (1921 SE Indiana Ave., Topeka, KS), something extraordinary is about to happen…

It starts on February 27, 2027.
The doors open at 10:00 AM.
By 10:01, the room is already alive.
Sketch pencils scratching across paper.
Fabric swishing as capes come to life.
Laughter echoing between tables of artists, dreamers, and future legends.
This isn’t just an event.
This is Origin Stories—a youth comic festival powered by Innovative Impacts.
From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, worlds will be built in real time:
- 🎨 Workshops where ideas turn into ink
- 🛍️ Vendors showcasing art, comics, and creativity
- 🦸 Cosplay—because sometimes you have to be the hero to understand them
- ✍️ Live drawing where imagination moves faster than the eye can follow
And somewhere in the crowd…
A kid who’s never felt heard before
will create something that says everything.
You see, comics aren’t just about superheroes.
They’re about the quiet kid finding confidence.
The storyteller turning struggle into strength.
The artist realizing their voice matters.
Hip hop. Westerns. Romance. Real life.
Every panel… a piece of truth.
Admission?
Free.
Because every hero deserves a beginning.
But if you feel it—the spark, the story, the reason—
you can help fuel the next chapter:
💛 Cash donations are welcome
🥫 Gifts for the pantry are encouraged
Because even heroes need support systems.
So whether you’re a creator, a dreamer, or just someone who believes in the power of young voices…
Show up.
Step inside.
And witness the moment
a story becomes a superpower.
Because every legend starts somewhere…
And on 2/27/27,
in a room full of possibility—
it starts here.
